Tour Titicaca: Uros, Taquile and Luquina homestay

  • Duration: 02 Days
  • Depart at 7:00 am and finish at 3:30 pm the following day

This tour offers a glimpse into the lives and traditions of the native people who live along the shores of Lake Titicaca.

The Uros are a native group who have inhabited Lake Titicaca since ancient times. They call themselves the «children of the lake» and claim to have African ancestry. Both the islands and their houses and rafts are constructed from totora reeds (Cirpus totora).

Taquile Island offers spectacular views of the vastness of the lake and the opportunity to meet the Quechua people. Here, you’ll find natives who preserve their ancestral traditions and customs, such as their skill in the art of fine weaving.

Luquina, located on the shores of Lake Titicaca, is home to the Aymara people who welcome visitors into their homes. Travelers can stay overnight and participate in the local activities, savoring traditional cuisine amidst a unique landscape, and at night, enjoy a breathtaking starlit sky (weather permitting).
This trip is very popular with visitors because it offers the opportunity to experience the life of the Aymara people, descendants of an ancient civilization that has inhabited the high plateau since time immemorial.
