Lake Titicaca Homestay Tour Uros, Amantani and Taquile islands 04 Days

Lake Titicaca’s islands are world famous for their peaceful beauty and the living tradition of their native cultures, which date from pre-Inca times. A homestay on the island offers a privileged glimpse of another way of life.

ITINERARY:

Day 01: Reception in Puno or Airport of Juliaca and transfer to Puno.

This Service begins with reception at the bus terminal in Puno or Juliaca Airport and transfer to the Hotel in Puno.

Day 02: Tour Lake Titicaca Uros Floating Island and Amantani O’N

At 8:00am. We pick you up from your hotel and then we take a motor boat to the Uros Islands. Arriving we visit the floating islands walking and interacting wiht the natives. There is also a chance to ride a reed boat (Extra charge US $ 3.00).  Later, We continue our trip to Amantani Island, where we will spend the rest of the day and the night. Upon arrival, we meet the natives at the harbor, and organize your lodging in their houses. In the afternoon we will walk up to the highest point of the Islands to explore a Pre inca Temple (Pachatata). There are stunning views of the Lake from this lookout point and an amazing sunset. Soon after nightfall, we descend to the main plaza and we go back to home for dinner. At night visitors are invited to a particular local party.

Day 03: Tour Taquile Island and return to Puno in the afternoon.

After breakfast, we take the boat to “Taquile Island”, a traditional Quechua speaking community, and full of ancient agricultural terraces. The weaving tradition is part of the culture and goes back to early civilizations; all weaving is done by hand. The most characteristic garments are the “Chullos”, a knitted hat with an earflap, and “The Calendar Waistband”. Arriving to the island, We have to walk up along a narrow path, enjoying on the way impressive views of the Lake Titicaca and mountains. At the village, you will have free time to explore around on your own, and optionally you have a chance for lunch at one local restaurant (extra charge). Later we will descent to the pier to take our boat back to Puno. We will be getting Puno by 4:00pm. and you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Day 04: Tour Sillustani and Transfer to the airport of Juliaca.

We pick you up from your Hotel in Puno, and then we visit the famous Chullpas of Sillustani, 12m/40ft high stone cylinder burial chambers, used by the Aymaras to bury their important leaders. Here you also have the opportunity to see Alpacas, Llamas, Guinea pigs and other local wildlife.

Later you will be transported to the airport of Juliaca or Bus station in Puno.
