This tour begins with a pick-up from your hotel and a drive to the town of Copacabana, located 151 km away. The 3-hour journey follows the shores of Lake Titicaca, offering breathtaking views of the Cordillera Real mountain range. Upon arrival at the Copacabana peninsula, you will be met by your guide.
Visit Copacabana to the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Copacabana, the Chapel of Candles, and the Wishing Market.
The following day, travel to the Island of the Sun (both the South and North sections), then continue to the Island of the Moon (Isla de la Luna) and explore the area, visiting the Inca Garden, the Fountain of Youth, the Pilkocaina Temple, Challapampa, Chinkana, and the Sacred Rock. Afterward, travel to the Island of the Moon and visit the Temple of the Virgins of the Sun.
ITINERARY
Day 1: Puno (or La Paz) – Copacabana
6:00 AM Pick-up from your hotel in Puno (or La Paz) and travel by tourist bus to Copacabana. During the trip, you will appreciate the impressive Andean landscape.
Arrival at the Kasani border crossing and completion of immigration procedures.
Continue your journey to Copacabana and transfer to your hotel. Then, begin your guided tour of the Church, the Chapel of Candles, and the Alacitas Market.
Lunch is provided at midday.
Free afternoon to visit the Calvario viewpoint.
Hotel in Copacabana
Day 2: Sun and Moon Island Tour and trip to La Paz (or Puno).
8:00 am Hotel pick-up in Copacabana and board the motorboat to travel to the Island of the Sun. Travel across Lake Titicaca to the southern part of the Island of the Sun and visit the Temple of the Sun (Pilkokaina). Then, hike along trails with breathtaking scenery to reach the Fountain of Youth and the Inca Gardens in Yumani.
Continue by boat to the northern part of the island and visit Challapampa, where you will see the Chinkana and the Sun Rock, considered by legend to be the origin of the first Incas.
Then continue the journey to the Island of the Moon, where you will visit the Temple of the Virgins of the Sun and admire the snow-capped mountains. In the afternoon, board the motorboat back to Copacabana and continue your journey by bus to La Paz (or Puno).
Arrival in Puno at approximately 8:50 pm.
