The Lake Titicaca is called the highest navigable lake in the world, with a surface elevation of 3,810 metres (12,507 ft), located on the Andes of Perú and Bolivia.
The volume of water and by surface area, it is the largest lake in South America.
Titicaca was the foundation of the most influential cultures of the Andean Region. (Quechuas, Aymaras, Uros).
ITINERARY
Day 01: Arequipa to Chivay
7:40am Pick up from your hotel in Arequipa and tourist transport to the Town of Chivay «Colca Canyon». Along the way, we’ll pass through scenic landscapes until we reach the Pampa Cañahuas Reserve, then continue ascending to Patapampa – Mirador de los Volcanes, located 4,850 meters above sea level. Here, we make a stop to appreciate the landscape offered by this natural viewpoint.
Afterwards continue the trip to the town of Chivay, where we will check into our selected hotel within the Chivay area.
Free afternoon and opportunity to visit the hot springs, a place surrounded by mountains and featuring sulfurous hot springs that spring from the mountain (bring swimwear and towels).
Optional: In the evening, we have the opportunity to participate in a dinner accompanied by a folkloric group.
Day 02: Tour Colca canyon and Trip to Puno.
6:30 a.m. pick up from Hotel and travel to the natural viewpoint known as La Cruz del Cóndor (The Condor’s Cross). During the tour, we will appreciate spectacular views of the Colca River, hanging tombs from the pre-Columbian era, and agricultural terraces that are over a thousand years old. We will then arrive at the famous Cruz del Cóndor, where we will have free time (45 minutes) to admire the natural beauty of the Colca Valley and observe the flight of the condors. We will then begin our return trip, stopping in several typical villages along the way.
In the town of Chivay, we’ll have a time to have lunch (not included)
1:00 p.m Continue the trip by tourist transport from Chivay to Puno with visits on the route at Patapampa, Parahuasi, Lagunillas.
7:30 p.m Arrival Puno and check into the selected Hotel.
Day 03: Tour Lake Titicaca Uros and Taquile Islands
7:00 am We pick you up from hotel and transfer to port of Puno. then take a speed motor boat towards to the Uros Floating Islands.
Arriving we walk on the reed islands and interact with the locals. Later will be a chance to ride a typical boat (extra charge)
Afterwards we continue our trip to “Taquile Island”. Upon arrival, we walk slowly along a narrow path towards the village inhabited by Quechua natives, and you will have a chance to explore around the main Plaza and take pictures of the Lake Titicaca. Later we walk to a local restaurant for lunch (they usualy offer grill trout). After lunch, we will descent to the harbor to take our boat back to Puno.
We will be getting Puno by 4:00pm.
